THEME INFO PACKS

Welcome to this new section of our website. This is meant to provide general information on the themes being covered by Farming Matters Magazine (before called LEISA Magazine), and is therefore going to be updated regularly. We include information about books and publications, and also about the work of other organisations. We also refer to previous issues of our magazine, as well as to the issues published by our partner organisations.

We invite you to help us, by sending us links to books, websites or other resources which we could add. Your contributions can help us make these pages more interesting and useful. We look forward to your comments and suggestions!

Diverse farming systems

There are diverse landscapes and ecosystems, diverse ways of life, diverse crops and agricultural systems. The books and resources listed here show that diverse farming systems are capable of generating their own inputs, have favourable energy ratios, good links to markets, and have an effective approach to achieving food security, income generation and encironmental conservation.
